The Practice Director role is responsible for building and leading a new dedicated HR Practice in Expert360. You will be one of four Australian Practice Directors in our marketplace team, reporting directly into our Founder & CEO, Bridget Loudon. About the role:

The Practice Director role is responsible for building and leading a new dedicated HR Practice in Expert360. You will be one of 4 Australian Practice Directors in our marketplace team, reporting directly into our Founder and CEO, Bridget Loudon. Organisations, particularly in the mid-market, turn to Expert360 to find HR professionals for contract, permanent, consulting, interim or fractional work. 

You will put that offering into overdrive, by deepening existing client relationships (mainly C-suite MidCap), build new ones, partnering with Segment Leaders (i.e. PE Practice Leader, Mining Practice Leader) etc. to bring HR Expertise, bring in briefs, and partner with a talent delivery team who will ensure that all of your clients get the very best talent. 

This role combines deep market expertise with strong commercial acumen, leveraging an established network of CEOs and client organisations to generate new business, manage key accounts, and deliver high-quality talent outcomes.

This is a senior, market-facing role requiring proven search capability, consultative selling skills, and credibility with HR executives and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Development & Sales

  • Build, manage, and grow a portfolio of client relationships within the HR and People & Culture sector
  • Originate and convert new executive and senior-level search opportunities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on talent strategy, market insights, and organisational design
  • Lead fee negotiations, proposal development, and commercial agreements

Oversee Delivery

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of your client’s projects and jobs - checking in, seeking feedback, reshaping brief or shortlist, and close.
  • Partner with Senior HR professionals on more complex projects

Market & Brand Leadership

  • Maintain a strong and visible presence in the HR leadership market
  • Build and nurture a high-quality candidate network of senior HR professionals
  • Represent the firm at industry events and forums
  • Provide regular market intelligence and thought leadership internally and externally

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with colleagues to land and expand opportunities
  • Mentor and support junior consultants
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth strategy and practice development

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience in executive search or senior recruitment, within HR / People & Culture
  • Strong sales and business development capability with a track record of winning and retaining clients
  • Established network of HR leaders, candidates, and client organisations
  • Ability to operate credibly with C-suite and senior stakeholders
  • Strong candidate assessment and interview capability
  • Commercial mindset with strong negotiation skills
