Article Snapshot

Expert360 co-founder and CEO, Bridget Loudon, was interviewed by the Australian this week to discuss our expansion to the United States along with the future of work and the state of the professional services industry.   The piece, written by Elizabeth Redman, the North American correspondent for Australia's most widely circulated paper, looks at the types of businesses that use Expert360, the range of consultants on our platform, the average pay packets for freelance consultants and our strategy for entering the US market.

Below, you can find a short excerpt of the article.   "The professional services industry is seeing a trend towards increasing demand for specialisation and global insights among its consultants, according to Expert360 co-founder Bridget Loudon. The Sydney-based consulting services start-up — which matches freelance consultants with businesses seeking advice — has recently opened a US office, citing a market opportunity 11 times the size of that in Australia. The larger scale of the US market allows consultants to specialise in a narrow area and still find plenty of demand for their services. For example, an Australian consultant focused on a particular aspect of cybersecurity within major banking institutions might only find a few teams in Australia that would hire them, but hundreds in the US, Ms Loudon says. “Large companies want specialisation, they want experts,” Ms Loudon said in New York. “I think they are increasingly looking for expertise that they don’t have in-house and not looking to engage a generalist."   You can read the rest of the article on The Australian's website or hear from Expert360's other co-founder, Emily Yue, about our US expansion here.
