We understand that the transition from fortnightly to monthly pay is an upheaval, many of us have done it. To help in the transition the following plan will be followed.
- The first month from fortnightly pay you will be paid on or before the 26th of the month for any time worked and unpaid in the previous month plus the first two weeks of the current month.
- In the second month from fortnightly pay you will be paid for the last two weeks of the previous month on or before the 26th of the month
- In the third month from fortnightly pay you will be paid on or before the 26th of the month for the entire previous months work.
Example:
Transition date is 1 Jan 2023:
- 26 Jan you would be paid for the week ending 31 Dec and first two weeks of Jan23.
- 24 Feb (because 26 Feb is a Sunday) you would be paid for the work completed 16 – 31 Jan
- 24 Mar ((because 26 Mar is a Sunday) you would be paid for all of Feb.
Transition date is 1 Feb 2023:
- 24 Feb (because 26 Feb is a Sunday) you would be paid for 23 – 31 Jan and 1 – 12 Feb.
- 24 Mar (because 26 Mar is a Sunday) you would be paid for the work completed 13 – 28 Feb
- 26 Apr you would be paid for all of Mar
